Together We Can Make Difference!
Book Drives
Through our partnerships with schools and other organizations, we provide access to books by hosting book drives and pop ups.
Mini Libraries
We work with various communities to place free miniature libraries in areas where access to books and literacy services tend to be low.
Read Alouds
We host live and virtual read alouds in our communities to help young readers cultivate a listening ear and a reader's voice.
You Can Be A Part Of Us
People like you are what makes a difference. Join our community of volunteers and together, we can make sure every child has the opportunity they deserve to improve their literacy and enjoy reading.
Our Mission
Kafe Ìwé develops youth into independent thinkers by providing access to reading materials, improving literacy, and cultivating a love of reading.
Literacy Instruction
Our literacy services are provided by credentialed teachers and education specialists.
Healthy Snacks
Our literacy cafe features healthy tapas for students to snack on while enjoying their reading.
Reading Materials
We provide access to various reading materials, including physical books, audiobooks, magazines, ebooks, and more.
Love of Reading
We cultivate a love of reading in our young patrons by creating a welcoming environment where reading is an adventure.
Independent Thinkers
We develop independent thinkers by exposing our patrons to unique ideas that challenge mainstream mindsets.
Community Access
We increase access to literacy in low income communities of color with reading events and little libraries.
Our Projects
We have several ongoing projects and programs that help us develop independent thinkers by increasing access to books and literacy. These three projects focus on: increasing access to reading materials in low income communities of color, improving literacy in the Greater Los Angeles area, and cultivating a love of reading in the communities we serve.
